S&S Sales, founded in 1980 by Tom Nelson and Woody Grandstaff, embarked on its journey with a primary focus on traditional hardware product lines. The agency’s efforts targeted business at home centers, farm stores, and the hardware distributor channel.
In 2002, the company witnessed a pivotal moment with the addition of Bob Kane as a partner. His dedication and commitment led him to acquire S&S Sales from Tom in 2004. Tom continued with S&S in the role as a company principal until his retirement in 2016.
In 2020, Amy Stabenow, Tom's daughter, became a partner at S&S, eventually taking over the reins in 2022 when she acquired the agency from Bob Kane. Today, with Bob continuing as a principal in the company, S&S Sales stands as a testament to its rich history and unwavering commitment to excellence.
Throughout its forty-plus years in business, S&S Sales has embraced growth and innovation. The establishment of a satellite office in Illinois, the acquisition of two rep agencies, and a significant expansion of product offerings and accounts showcase the agency's resilience and adaptability.
